Why do granite countertop prices vary so much?
The cost of the actual granite is only small percentage of the job. If a price seems too good to be true, one should wonder what sacrifices are being made through-out the process. Just a few examples of what the price DOES include @ Marble Tech:
1) Friendly and knowledgeable staff available 7 days a week
2) Electronic measures for greater accuracy
3) State of the art fabrication facility, including robotics, CNC machines & waterjets
4) Virtual Inventory for viewing of our entire collection of slabs from your home or office
5) 15 year sealer applied before countertops are installed
6) Our stone is guaranteed for life
What do I clean my new countertops with?
Mild soaps work well. Never use an abrasive cleanser such as Soft-Scrub. Specialty cleaners are not necessary to maintain the everlasting luster of natural stone. Most importantly, try to avoid letting standing water dry on the surface, as you may experience a buildup of lime or calcium (easily removable, though)
Can I cut on my granite countertops?
Sure! We would recommend using a wooden or acrylic cutting board, as the quartz found in most granite will quickly dull your stainless cutlery
How often should I seal my countertops?
Before installation, we apply the most advanced sealer available in the industry. This sealer protects for 15 years. Guaranteed. As a certified applicator, Marble Tech can also apply this sealer to countertops that have been previously installed.
With a little love, granite countertops should last a lifetime.
Is quartz better than granite?
Better in what way? Although the quartz manufacturers would lead you to believe that their products are easier to maintain, that is just not true anymore. Both surfaces are heat, scratch & stain resistant. Quartz surfaces tend to be a bit more expensive, due to marketing and warranties. For years, the quartz companies have been trying to replicate natural stone. Impossible! However, we offer 3 different lines of quartz for the consumer who has specific color needs that only occasionally cannot be met with granite.
How long will it take to install my new countertops?
A typical kitchen will take only a few hours. Our professional installation team will often be able to remove your existing laminate tops, and have your new granite countertops installed in about ½ a day.
Can I use marble in my kitchen?
We don’t recommend, nor will we warranty, marble for kitchen countertops. Marble is, by nature, much softer than granite. In a normal kitchen application, marble will be much more likely to scratch, stain or etch.
